What is the Best Color for My Prom Dress?
What is the best color for your prom dress?
The answer is simple - color. Let me rephrase that better -
COLOR IS HOT! Really, really hot!
Gone is the old ocean of black dress after black dress . . . boring!
Sure, somebody is going to show up in a black gown and she may look positively
stunning. But why? Because of all the color around her! Think of it this way -
black and white photographs stand out because they're different from the world
around them - the world of color. But color always stands out.
Today's prom attendee will express herself, her identity and who she
is with a statement in color.
Which color should you pick for
your perfect prom dress? There's only one color - the color that makes you
look positively radiant!
It make be a deep, rich blue but it
may be baby blue, too. It could be bright citrus tones or it may be soft green
or pink. How do you know? Well, there are some easy ways to know what color
is bad for you -- if a color makes you think "I need more make up" or
"my eyes look really small in my head" or "my hair color needs to be changed" -
it's highly likely that you're in the wrong color. Instead, look for a color
that really makes your eyes stand out and your hair glow. It's different for
everybody.
For me, burgundy makes me look like I died a week ago and
should be thrown out with the trash. My skin suddenly looks terribly uneven,
even blotchy and my eyes nearly disappear. But other colors like white
especially, or light blue make me think "gosh, I look good!" (not bragging -
this will happen to you too, with the right color).
Get another
opinion. But who can you trust? We all know other girls who would do anything to
make you look bad so she can look good. Don't bring them along when you're
looking for a dress. Bring somebody you can TRUST. And guess what? This may very
well be Mom! Somebody who will stand back, look at the whole picture and be
honest with you. They can tell you if you're looking as good as you feel in that
dress.
Because you may be in love with a dress that isn't loving you
back. If it loves you, you're going to look great!
So don't be
afraid of color -- embrace it. Make a statement and stand boldly in the color
that takes your breath away and more important, a color that takes
their breath away when you walk in!
